Arcane Essentials was started by Ash Grey (they, them), a neurodivergent college student who needed to support themselves but could not work a typical job. They wanted to create a business where they could sell unique and sustainable items, as well as document their journey to help others find their niche.  Capes are the first of Ash's creative exploration.  If you join Ash on social media (@arcane.essentials) you will be able to come along as they learn crafts like herbalism, leatherworking, metalworking, animal care, drums, and so much more! 

This business is driven by Ash's desire to see fantastical items make a re-emergence and add a little magic to everyday life. Ash is an avid reader and a lover of all things natural, magical, and romantic. They are a queer witch who is still learning their craft and having so much fun doing it. The weird and unusual are just part of everyday life for Ash because they are living as authentically as possible and, since they are kind of weird and unusual, like attracts like.

The true meaning of sustainability gets a little lost in our capitalist society today.  Something cannot be sustainable just because it was made in an eco-friendly way. Sustainability means long-term use and reuse in order to minimize the impact what is made has on the world. That is why all of the items sold here are created from using as many second-hand or recycled materials as possible.
